FIFA Street 2

EA Sports Big takes players back to the streets with FIFA STREET 2 for
the Xbox, a street soccer game that combines the fun of street soccer
with the roster of the FIFA. Building on the first game, FIFA STREET 2
brings improved gameplay, better controls, and some new features. The
biggest aspect of FIFA STREET 2 is the tricks. Players rack up huge
scores by doing tricks and taunting the other team in order to gain
enough trick/taunt combos to earn a gamebreaker opportunity, which can
quickly change the tide of the game. For example, if players decide to
try to take out three of the other team’s defenders, the gamebreaker can
even result in that team losing a point. FIFA STREET 2 gives players
more control over the tricks and doubles the number players can easily
pull off. A new juggling mechanism has also been included, allowing
players to bounce the ball off their feet, shoulders, head, and elbows.
Players can even move the character or make him spin around while
juggling, and the control mechanisms to pull this off is fairly simple
to grasp. FIFA STREET 2 includes a large number of official FIFA soccer
teams and allows players to set their home field in a variety of
locations, including Brazil, Amsterdam, London, and Rome. There are also
different difficulty levels available as well as rule options. Gamers
who enjoy soccer and like pulling off impressive tricks will enjoy FIFA
STREET 2.

Prince Of Persia: The Two Thrones

Ubisoft brings its PRINCE OF PERSIA trilogy to a close with THE TWO
THRONES for the Xbox. After spending years battling the evil Dahaka, the
beast players faced in PRINCE OF PERSIA: THE WARRIOR WITHIN, the prince
returns home. However, things aren’t exactly as he expected them to be.
Instead of a warm welcome in Babylon, the prince finds his land
invaded, his people slaughtered, and the sands of time released. Once
again, the prince will have to battle the evils of the desert while
uncovering the events leading to his homeland’s destruction. The Two
Thrones relies more on some of the cultural aspects of its setting and
presents a somewhat lighter story than the previous game. However, the
prince himself will face his inner darkness. The releasing of the sands
of time have caused the prince’s dark self to awaken, and on some
levels, players will find themselves controlling this alter ego. Gamers
will still get to jump, swing, run up walls, and all of the other
exciting features introduced in the series. While the prince can dual
wield weapons and has a number of powerful combo features, his dark self
has much more powerful attacks. He carries a bladed whip that easily
dispatches enemies and can be used in a variety of new attacks. With the
prince’s dark side affecting the character and the return of some
familiar faces, PRINCE OF PERSIA: THE TWO THRONES brings the trilogy to a
surprising conclusion that gamers won’t want to miss.

Samurai Showdown V

SNK’s SAMURAI SHODOWN series is known as one of the best NeoGeo series
ever, and now Xbox gamers can see what all the fuss is about with
SAMURAI SHODOWN V. With a huge variety of fighters to pick from, amazing
anime-inspired graphics, and many unlockable extras, the game is sure
to be a hit in the fighting genre. Fights in SAMURAI SHODOWN V are
one-on-one fights to the finish. Players have over two dozen characters
to chose from, although some must be unlocked by defeating story mode.
Returning characters include ninja master Hanzo, samurai Jubei, and
swordsman Ukyo. They are joined by a few new fighters for game five,
including Yoshitora, a warrior who fights with four swords, and Yumeji,
who can use other fighters’ techniques against them. Each fighter has
his or her own special moves in addition to the standard weak, medium,
and strong slashes, punches, and kicks. These attacks inflict a ton of
damage if the connect, but they also take longer to setup and execute.
SAMURAI SHODOWN includes many of the standard fighting game modes like
story, practice, and quick fight. It also features online play via Xbox
Live. Players can set up quick matches, adjust the rules, or run their
own tournament online. SAMURAI SHODOWN V has a lot going for it, and
Xbox gamers who love fighting games are sure to enjoy it. The series may
be one of the older names in the genre, but SAMURAI SHODOWN V proves
it’s still going strong.

Over The Hedge

The game version of DREAMWORKS OVER THE HEDGE by Activision for the XBOX
takes players into the vivid and fantastic world of the much-loved
movie as they work with the woodland creatures to ensure their ultimate
survival. The game starts up near the end of the movie and carries the
story on after it ends. Here players will find that the exterminators
have used mind control devices in the form of hats in a final effort to
try and get rid of them. To stop their evil plan players must rely on
the prowess of RJ the raccoon, Verne the turtle, Hammy the squirrel, and
Stella the skunk. Players can control any of these characters at any
given time, and the characters always travel in packs of two. There is
also a special feature that allows a second player to pick up the
control and begin playing at any time during the game, and when one
player leaves, their two characters merely leave when the player does,
allowing people to enter and exit the game without disturbing the flow
of play. There are a few variations on the story levels of the games,
and a few mini-games help keep players immersed in the animated world.
Some of the mini-games include Bumper Cars, Range Driver, and RC Racing,
in which players will bump, race, and shoot their way to success.
Overall the gaming experience in DREAMWORKS OVER THE HEDGE is obviously
geared toward children; however, it is entertaining for players of all
ages.

Dynasty Warrior 5

The fifth installment in Koei’s DYNASTY WARRIORS series for the Xbox
returns players to ancient China during a time of turmoil and war. Based
on the Chinese story ROMANCE OF THE THREE KINGDOMS, players take
control of one of 48 legendary Chinese warriors to battle their way
through thousands of enemies for king and country. DYNASTY WARRIORS 5
has a simple goal: select a character and start hacking away at
everything that moves. Each character has an unique story in story mode
and their own upgradeable weapons and special combo attacks. The
bodyguard system is back, although instead of two weaker assistants, you
get one stronger guard and the ability of combining attacks to decimate
enemies. Debuting in DYNASTY WARRIORS 4, the stronghold system makes a
return, letting you take over certain locations on the map to boast army
morale. Challenge mode is back also, this time containing a time attack
mode, a rampage mode, and a new mini-game called bridge melee, were the
purpose is to knock as many enemies off a bridge as possible in the
given time. An encyclopedia detailing the characters and battles’
histories is also available. Fans of the series will enjoy the new
additions to the familiar formula, including six new characters.
Newcomers can jump right in it’s not necessary to have any knowledge of
the previous games or the story. For both, DYNASTY WARRIORS 5 offers the
excitement of an action/adventure game with the added bonus of a
built-in history lesson.

the best graphics the CRASH BANDICOOT series has ever known, and the
controls are more intuitive than ever. Dedicated CRASH gurus and
franchise rookies alike should get many miles out of this one.

Final Fight X Streetwise

Get ready for the fights of your life with Capcom’s FINAL FIGHT:
STREETWISE for the Xbox. Changing the traditional fighter game into more
of an action-adventure, the game still contains tons of fast-paced,
action-packed fights that the series is known for. Players take on the
role of Kyle, a pit fighter and brother of FINAL FIGHT’s Cody. The game
jumps right into a fight, pitting Kyle against a huge opponent named
Handsome Bob, who doesn’t really live up to his name. Once Bob’s down,
Cody appears, and players gain control of Kyle and can explore the
surrounding city. The game plays out as a series of missions given to
Kyle by various characters. In addition to missions, Kyle can help take
down muggers, drug dealers, and other shady characters as he explores
the streets. Stopping these activities will increase the respect he gets
from other characters. The more respect he has, the friendlier people
are to him, and this makes parts of the game significantly easier. In
addition to the main story mode, an arcade version of the game is also
playable. In it, one or two players can battle their way through the
city without any missions or quests. Players can choose to play as Kyle,
Cody, or two unlockable characters. Gamers who love the FINAL FIGHT
series will enjoy the combat and mission-style gameplay FINAL FIGHT:
STREETWISE has adopted. The two are combined in such a way that makes
Streetwise incredibly fun.
