X-Men: The Official Game

Activision brings everyone’s favorite mutants back to the Xbox with
X-MEN: THE OFFICIAL GAME. The game is set right before the events in
X-MEN 3: The Last Stand, the third X-MEN feature film, and will
chronicle the events leading up to the movie. With three X-Men to
control, tons of action, and more, the game truly captures the
excitement of the movie. Players will be able to control Wolverine, Ice
Man, and Nightcrawler throughout the game, using and upgrading each
mutant’s special powers and abilities as they battle enemies such as the
Brotherhood of Mutants and more from both the feature films and the
comics. Other X-Men, including Professor X, Cyclops, and Storm, also
appear. The script for the game was written by movie screenwriter Zek
Penn and comic writer Chris Claremont. Each of the three characters has
his own special powers, and gamers will get familiar with each during
the game. Wolverine’s powerful claws easily defeat enemies and allow him
to destroy parts of the environment, while Nightcrawler can climb walls
and teleport away from enemies. Ice Man, of course, can freeze his
enemies and create a stream of frozen ice to slide down. All of these
abilities will be needed to fully complete the game. The X-Men movie
series has become incredibly popular, and X-MEN: THE OFFICIAL GAME
provides a key part of the overarching movie plot by letting gamers in
on what happens before X-MEN 3: The Last Stand.

Burnout Revenge

Electronic Arts’ BURNOUT: REVENGE hits the Xbox with new, interesting
additions and tweaks to the BURNOUT racing series. Racing fans and fans
of the BURNOUT series will appreciate many of the new additions.
BURNOUT: REVENGE is all about the crashing. Not only can players bash
into other racers to try and take them down, but players can now crash
into bystanders and other cars. These other cars can actually be used as
weapons because, if players hit them just right, they will go flying
into other racers, causing a spectacular crash. This method is explored
even more in Traffic Attack mode, in which the goal is to crash into as
many cars as possible. In addition to Traffic Attack, modes from
previous BURNOUT games like road rage and crash mode also return. The
courses in Revenge also feature some new additions. Each one has
alternate routes and shortcuts that players can take advantage of. They
will especially need to do this when racing online. Here, up to six
players can battle it out in either straight-racing mode, crash mode, or
team road rage challenges. The other great addition to the game is the
graphics. The cars are incredibly detailed, the courses look amazing,
and the crashes are spectacular. Racing fans who haven’t played the game
before will love the new look of the game, and the game tweaks and
additions make BURNOUT: REVENGE a great racing game to play.

FlatOut 2

Vivendi Games’ FLATOUT 2 continues the destructive racing found in the
first FLATOUT. This Xbox features many different gameplay modes, online
play, and tremendous crashes that will rock the TV. It also features
many of the favorite mini-games from FLATOUT. The game includes over 35
different vehicles, more than twice the number available in the first
FLATOUT. Each is fully destructible, and while most start out looking
beat up, players can unlock new versions of the cars by winning in race
and street modes. There are also unlockable cars to get. FLATOUT 2 also
features over 60 different courses, each with a whopping 5,000
destructible objects. The circuits are also non-linear, giving players
the chance to take shortcuts or alternative routes to cut off their
opponents. The courses are set in North America and include many
distinct settings, including Los Angeles and the Nevada desert. The
other drivers have been given an intelligence boost and now drive much
more realistically, increasing the challenge of FLATOUT 2. Players can
still build up nitrous boosts, however, that grant a temporary speed
increase. Also, players can upgrade their cars with cash won from
winning races and demolishing opponents. FLATOUT 2 has everything that
makes demolition racing fun while including a large number of game play
modes and mini-games, including nine new ones and all of the original
rag doll games from the first FLATOUT. With all of that, FLATOUT 2 is
definitely a demolition racers dream.

FIFA World Cup 2006

Electronic Arts presents its annual FIFA title, and this time, it’s all
about winning the biggest trophy in soccer. FIFA WORLD CUP GERMANY 2006
for the Xbox follows the tournament that will begin in Germany in June
2006 and features all 127 national soccer teams and many big-name
players. With several areas of the series sporting major upgrades and
redesigns, the 2006 entry will surprise long time fans of the series.
The first major change is the menu system. They have undergone a large
upgrade and are now easier to navigate and include several different
options. The modes of game play have changed a bit, too. In addition to
the main tournament mode, there’s also quick play, lounge mode, online
support, a store where players unlock extras, and global challenge mode,
where players can replay 40 different historical scenarios using
today’s soccer players. Gamers also have the option of playing through
one of the six regional qualifying rounds or heading straight to the
world cup as one of the final 32 teams. If gamers choose to play the
straight tournament, they will find their team up against the opponent
they will be facing in the actual world cup. They can also choose to
rearrange the final 32 teams or change the schedule around, creating
their own match ups. FIFA WORLD CUP GERMANY 2006 promises more of the
same great soccer action that the series is known for while putting
players in control of the biggest tournament in soccer history.

Manhunt

Rockstar Games is proud to announce MANHUNT, the next project from

Full Spectrum Warrior: Ten Hammers

Continuing the story that began in FULL SPECTRUM WARRIOR, THQ presents
FULL SPECTRUM WARRIOR: TEN HAMMERS for the Xbox. With more of the same
great tactical squad action, Ten Hammers brings players twelve new
missions and much more intense battle action. Ten Hammers picks up after
events in the first game. This time, players are part of a US and UN
peacekeeping force that has been sent into the fictional country of
eastern Zekistan. The goal of the force is to take control of the Tien
Hamir Bridge, or, in English, Ten Hammer Bridge. Of course, securing and
holding the bridge won’t be easy. The game’s story unfolds through four
chapters and twelve missions, each of which will test the player’s
ability to lead their squad and battle Zekistan forces. Unlike many
games, however, the missions in Ten Hammer aren’t set in chronological
order. The first training mission, for example, is set after the
peacekeeping force has secured the bridge, but players won’t actually

game. The squadron gameplay has been overhauled a good amount, giving
players news options. They can now split their two squads of four into
four two-man teams, leading to some interesting strategies and the
ability to cover more ground. Of course, this leaves each two-man team a
bit more vulnerable, as well. Gamers who enjoyed FULL SPECTRUM WARRIOR
will find that Ten Hammers presents new, challenging missions that they
will enjoy.
